Selaxon Lutberg
Selaxon Lutberg is a solo project from Rome, Italy, formed by Andrea Penso. Based primarily within the ambient genre, his music mixes dynamic electronic soundscapes and minimal post-rock tendencies, with the occasional use of samples and simple piano refrains.
Andrea Penso is also known for his neofolk project We Wait for the Snow, and for his label Cold Current Production.
After a couple of ultra-limited demos, in 2005 Selaxon Lutberg released the debut full-length album "Total Control in the Heart of the Sun", limited to 100 copies on Butcher's House Prod.. It is probably his most openly industrial/dark ambient release to date, somewhere between the bleak soundscapes of raison d'être, and the ritual industrial experiments of the 1980s.
In 2006 Andrea Penso collaborated with Subinterior (Andrea Freschi, also drummer of Canaan), producing a stunning 4-part series. Each part, dedicated to a season, was released separately on 3" CD-R in a limited edition of only 50 copies.
The second full-length, “Cold House of Love”, was released in November 2006 on Eibon Records, consisting of ten minimal soundscapes based upon emotional sounds made with guitars, piano and heavily processed field recordings.
Selaxon Lutberg returned in 2013 with "Simboli accidentali", released on Denovali Records. It consists of 8 tracks, which have been recorded at Andrea's home between 2010 and 2012 and mastered by Miles Whittaker (Demdike Stare). The typically warm and encasing songs are mostly made with processed and unrecognizable guitars, an old and cheap organ and loops from ruined tapes and vinyls.
